KATHLEEN P. BRUHN MEMORIAL LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM ACCEPTING

NOMINATIONS FOR OUTSTANDING YOUNG VOLUNTEERS

Camp Fire Alabama is honoring a graduating senior who has made a positive impact on their community with a
$1,000 Scholarship for General Education Expenses.

BIRMINGHAM, AL, February 15th, 2017 – The Camp Fire Alabama Kathleen P. Bruhn Memorial Leadership Scholarship Program will award a scholarship to a deserving individual. A graduating senior who has made a positive impact on their community will be selected. Nominations will be accepted until April 7th at campfire-al.org.  The Kathleen P. Bruhn Memorial Leadership Scholarship Program was developed in 2013 as part of The Kathleen P. Bruhn Memorial Leadership Open. The Leadership Open is a golf tournament which was introduced in 2012 by the Board of Directors of Camp Fire Alabama in partnership with The Thomas E. Jernigan Foundation. Its purpose is to support Camp Fire’s youth development programs in central Alabama while also establishing an endowment fund that will hopefully grow over the years and offer scholarship opportunities for our future leaders. Kathleen P. Bruhn was the Executive Director of Camp Fire Alabama for over twenty-four years and touched many lives in the process. The naming of this event and scholarship after Ms. Bruhn pays homage to her life and service, as she was the personification of leadership.
